1. Pioneers in particle analysis since 1969

There is a reason that very few people remember Bert Hinkler – he was the second to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. Charles Lindberg was the first, and he is a household name.

Similar to Lindberg, Microtrac (back then with Leeds & Northrup) was the first to use Laser Diffraction to measure particle size. Since inventing its first instrument, Microtrac has spent the last five decades improving on its technology.

Our product portfolio covers a wide range of particle characterisation:

Our laser diffraction analysers, the Nanotrac Flex and the Nanotrac Wave, nanoparticles from less than 1 nanometre up to a few microns are measured accurately for particle size and Zeta potential.

The Microtrac Sync is our most recent product: This system combines dynamic image analysis with laser diffraction, makes switching from wet to dry measurement easy and operates in a measurement range from 0.01 to 4,000 µm.

Out of our portfolio for dynamic image analysis, the PartAn 3D is the only analyser that delivers three dimensional particle size and shape analysis of granulates through proprietary technology.

Through a combination with our laser diffraction systems, the image analyser PartAn SI has the capability for particle shape analysis in suspensions and emulsions.

Dedicated versions of our image analysers, the PartAn 3D PRO and PartAn SI PRO (as well as Maxi variants for large particles) are available for on-line process control.

Microtrac's laser diffraction analysis systems, Blue Wave and Tri-Blue, identify / determine particle size distributions in powders, suspensions and emulsions from milimetres down to a few nanometres.

Die patentierte Tri-Laser-TechnolgieDas MICROTRAC Tri-Laser-System ermöglicht Lichtstreumessungen vom Vorwärtswinkelbereich bis 163°, eine der notwendigen Bedingungen für einen weiten Größenmessbereich. Dies geschieht durch eine Kombination von drei Lasern und zwei Sensoranordnungen, die alle fest positioniert sind. Das Streulicht des roten Lasers (#1) wird achsennah vom „On-Axis Array“ und um 60° vom „Off-Axis Array“ simultan aufgenommen. Der PartAn SI von Microtrac ist ein Mess-Instrument für die Bildanalyse dispergierter Proben; erhältlich ist er als Standalone-Einheit oder kombiniert mit unseren Laserbeugern (S3500 / Bluewave / Tri-Blue). Diese Kombination sorgt für eine übergangslose Integration zwischen Laserbeugung und dynamischer Bildanalyse. Das System arbeitet in einem Messbereich von 1 bis 2000 µm und bietet 24 Größen- und Formparameter, Scatter-Diagramm-Ansichten und eine Kamera mit einer Auflösung von 5 Megapixeln (2456 x 2058) sowie 62 Bildern pro Sekunde.
