Smart Industry and Industry 4.0

brokerage event for SME’s looking to cooperate in research and development projects.

"Industry 4.0 is more than just a flashy catchphrase. A confluence of trends and technologies promises to reshape the way things are made."  Cornelius Baur and Dominik Wee, McKinsey & Company.

In the context of the next two Eurostars Calls (deadlines in September 2019 and February 2020), NCP Wallonie, the Enterprise Europe Network and the public funding agencies from Belgium, the Netherlands and Nordrhein-Westfalen (Germany) co-organise on May 28th, 2019 a matchmaking event for SMEs interested in Smart Industry and Industry 4.0 topics.

Over the past few years, fast, flexible and intelligent production has become an evidence to industrials to achieve more sustainability, higher effectiveness and improved responsiveness required by the market. On this ground, Industry has entered its 4th revolution, nowadays known under the “Industry 4.0” motto.

In this concept, numerical tools, connectivity and robotics are fully integrated within the manufacturing assets, in order to boost productivity: Internet of things, interconnected sensors, 5G, robots are only a few illustrations of this great transformation. Efficient data creation, storage and treatment are the core foundation of industry’s transformation, by making processes more intelligent and adaptable. In this context, tomorrow’s industry will not consist anymore of a mosaic of independent units, but will rather be a fully integrated ecosystem, leveraging more power and time-adjusted response to market needs.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest services and funding opportunities offered by the Eurostars programme to SME’s and how to setup an international project.

In addition, the agenda will include matchmaking and pitches sessions.
