Description

The modern working world has become digital and closly connected. An important cross-sectional technology in this context is the digital twin. This technology can already be found in a wide variety of areas of research and industry. An important aspect, where the digital twin technology can be of great benefit is education and training in companies. Together with selected speakers we will address the possibilities of education and training by combining different digital technologies (DT, AR/VR/XR) in this online-workshop . Afterwards a guided discussion will help to exchange experience and adress further open questions. We

The event is held in English.

The Speakers

Matthias Grosch
Matthias Grosch Matthias Grosch is a project manager in the economy cluster NMWP.NRW. He made his first experience with digital twins during his studies of material science, where he worked on digital representations of material processing machinery. At NMWP.NRW he is responsible for the areas nanoelectronic and MEMS.

Dario Luipers
Dario Luipers Dario Luipers is head of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Rheinland. He has been employed at TH Köln since 2019 and has been working on the topic of digitalization and AI ever since. The Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Rheinland supports small and medium-sized enterprises in digitization. In this context, the center also offers an insight into VR and AR technology, which is used here primarily in the context of adult education.

Martin Plutz
Martin Plutz Martin Plutz is co-founder and managing director of oculavis GmbH, a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT. Innovative solutions to improve processes in customer service and maintenance are enabled at oculavis GmbH with data glasses, augmented reality and the remote maintenance platform oculavis SHARE.

Dominik Kissmann
Dominik Kissmann Dominik Kissmann is co-founder of the startup Lemontree.xyz, a think tank specializing in the development of virtual reality and 3D web applications. Through the implementation of a variety of projects for cultural institutions, the team has already gained several years of experience in knowledge transfer and now uses this to train employees in the industry.

Jürgen Mewes
Jürgen Mewes Jürgen Mewes is managing partner of WINMOD GmbH, which has many years of experience in the development and distribution of systems for real-time simulation of real plants and machines. Thus, WINMOD GmbH is able to represent the diverse processes in different industries in real time with all functional units.

“The Digital Twin Technology A brief introductory”

Digital twins have been used in a variety of fields for quite some time. These fields include processing, material sciences, industrial production and life sciences or healthcare. But how can we use them to their full potential?

"Qualification of young managers by means of digital twin"

Digital imaging allows us to teach teamwork and leadership skills interactively in a realistic work environment. The realistic environment increases knowledge transfer many times over.

Dario Luipers

"Augmented Reality as visualization and interaction layer of a digital twin"

The Augmented Reality solution from oculavis makes knowledge travel, not technicians. This saves travel costs and related CO2, plant downtimes are reduced and innovative, digital business models in service of machine and plant manufacturers can be designed. The remote age has just begun!

"The future of training: Virtual learning with digital twins"

The future of employee training is digital, interactive and even fun! We are therefore developing a platform for the virtual training of employees. With the help of virtual reality glasses, employees learn how to safely operate, maintain and service a plant - even before it has been built - regardless of time and location.
