Description

The development of computer power and simulation methods has led to enormous advances in recent decades. Simulation models are increasingly used for materials and process development and a wide range of simulation tools is now available. Today, they describe phenomena on all time and length scales relevant for materials and can often be run on a standard laptop even for complex simulations.

Currently, these software solutions have reached a level in their respective fields that enables valuable contributions to modern design tasks in knowledge-based production models. However, the complex interplay of atomistic processes, thermodynamics, process conditions, microstructure development, material and component properties can only be desribed by combining different simulation tools within an "Integrated Computational Materials Engineering" (ICME) approach.

In his Innovation2GO WebTalk, Georg J. Schmitz, Senior Scientist at ACCESS e.V., gives an overview of the advantages and potentials of ICME.

Note: The meeting will be held in English. Register already now so we can keep you updated with all further information.

The WebTalk takes place across borders in the context of the "Digital Twin Academy" project. The Digital Twin Academy project is being carried out within the framework of Interreg V-A Euregio Meuse-Rhine with € 4,117,772.05 from the European Regional Development Fund. The federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia is contributing 30% of the funding for the North Rhine-Westphalian partners in this project.

With „NMWP Innovation2GO“ the NMWP.NRW cluster offers the community a digital, compact and future-oriented event format: at regular intervals on Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. We want to end the day together with you with an online seminar on a current and inspiring topic relating to innovations and key technologies.

The registration process takes place as usual in two steps: Log in to the NMWP portal with your existing profile (or register in the portal with a profile) and then explicitly register for Innovation2GO WebTalk!

Note: This is a ZOOM WebTalk. Privacy information for our online meetings via ZOOM can be found at http://nmwp.nrw.de/zoom/. For the registration, you need a free profile in our NMWP portal, which is used to publish the list of participants. The terms of use and privacy policy for the NMWP portal can be found at  https://portal.nmwp.de/content/tos.

The topics of our WebTalks are chosen with the greatest possible care. The accuracy and validity of the content provided is the responsibility of the speakers. In order to make the talk available to a larger audience and thus increase innovation-promoting networking, we record your talk for later publication, for example on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvRhmw59-C53EP3RuQBlPYw),

The WebTalk will be joined online via your own computer, so the event address is obsolete.
