Green chemistry for high-performance materials and chemicals

Set up in 2011, DEMETA is a Green Chemistry company specialized in the development of new generation catalysts for the production of high performance materials and chemicals. 

The catalysts developed by DEMETA are patent-protected molecular tools used at very low dosage that simplify chemistry, making it possible to develop efficient, eco-responsible, safer and more competitive processes and products. With its first technology platform, DEMETA develops and markets NexTene™, a family of high-performance and low-carbon footprint materials adapted for extreme conditions, serving various markets, from offshore oil & gas, to composite materials and other industrial applications. 

With GreenCARE, its second technology platform, DEMETA develops specialty bio-based molecules, such as cosmetic ingredients, flavors & fragrances, pigments and surfactants. 

DEMETA is committed to the ecological transition. All of its products contribute to the European Commission’s 2030 targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening energy efficiency :
- Greenhouse gas emissions – a cut of at least 40% below 1990 levels
- Renewables – increased to at least 32% share
- Energy efficiency – increased by at least 32.5%

NexTene™
HIGH-PERFORMANCE, LOW-CARBON FOOTPRINT MATERIALS

NexTene™ solves technical challenges that cannot be overcome with existing materials. This novel polymer family is designed to meet the requirements of the most demanding industries, in their quest for extreme applications, while respecting the ever-increasing demand for a low carbon footprint.

Synthesized with DEMETA’s catalysts, NexTene P-DCPD resin systems combine the best of thermoplastics, thermosets and fluoropolymers with a low density (1.03). Their straight and simple synthesis pathways enable carbon footprint savings of at least 47% compared with existing materials. 

An ideal alternative to conventional resins such as epoxies, polyesters or polyurethanes, NexTene poly-DCPD, 2-component system is simple to process. Its exceptional toughness, strength, hardness and durability stand out in extreme conditions, covering a wide range of applications, from renewables and deep offshore energy, to off-highway vehicles and aeronautics.
