RIGHTWEIGHT Workshop: Innovative solutions for efficient lightweight design wanted!

RIGHTWEIGHT is an Interreg North West Europe (NWE) project aiming to find innovative solutions for (cost-)efficient lightweight design in the automotive & aerospace industry. For this purpose, the cooperation between the sectors lightweight design, automotive and aerospace in the fields of materialsupply & materialdevelopment, characterisation & modeling, design & smartfunctions, manufacturing & assembly and circulareconomy must be strengthened.

In this virtual workshop, the  challenges of the second round of RIGHTWEIGHT will be presented; partly supported by the challenge owners themselves. Following this, interested companies can present their expertise to the community in short pitches during a businesslunch.

In the first round, many innovative ideas and solutions were found to meet the challenges, which will be further developed within the RIGHTWEIGHT project. One example is the  innovative solution provided by Caracol AM for exploiting the potential of additive manufacturing by adopting high performance composite materials combined with an optimized design to achieve weight reduction of vehicles and greener manufacturing and transport.
