  • Today CNHi is using many metal plates to create the body of the agricultural devices. CNHi are moving into composite materials but currently  only comfortable with isotropic composite panels.

Challenge objectives

Further reduce weight in composite panels with smart composite fibre orientation optimisation and lay-up design.

  • The solution should be a virtual optimisation methodology to assist the innovation team with designing and engineering more optimized composite panels.
  • A concrete use-case is the joint design between a metal rod and composite panel
