Scope of the challenge
Within CNHi, topology optimisation is already used to optimise individual components based on multiple, quasi-static loads. CNHi would like to upscale the system optimisation in order to further virtually optimise the performance and weight of the vehicle. 

Challenge objectives

  • Multi-body optimisation within the bigger assembly
  • In the agricultural field, bursts of loads are often encountered.  Today, there are no clear optimisation methods which can handle these type of burst loads within a normal base or sinus wave-based loading of the parts.
