The challenge is to find innovative materials or innovative coatings to confer multifunctional properties (enhanced electrical conductivity, gas barrier, impermeability to moisture, de-icing, heat barrier etc..) to composites

Scope of the challenge

• At the moment there are different proposal to enhance the functional properties to composite materials but all of them are at low TRL.
•  All of these solutions seem to be very high cost and seems to require very difficult manufacturing processes.

Challenge objectives

• Evaluate and select one or more technology or product to give smart functionalities to composite materials that have a positive business case.
